The OC Chapters' major event is held in March. A day long trip around Catalina Island on the Catalina Flyer to watch the migration of the magnificent gray whales and is always fun.

The members of the Orange County Chapter sponsor the all day trip around Catalina Island, so people have an opportunity to see the whales migrating without so much interaction with boats along the shore.

Besides seeing the whales in their natural habitat, participants may also see seal lions, bald eagles, bison and many species of dolphins.

This year's trip was on March 16, 2008, and the prices were: Adults: $75;ACS members: $60; Seniors $65; Students: $40; Children: $35 and for borders in Avalon : $40.
