The American Cetacean Society (ACS) works to protect whales, dolphins, porpoises, and their habitats through education, conservation and research. For it is by educating the public about these amazing animals and the problems they face, that we can best protect them.

The Orange County Chapter of the ACS was formed in 1977 by Peter Bryant, Mike Hickey, Dave Beeninga, Dennis Kelly, Barbara Britten, Ganell Baker and others. There are currently approximately 90 members.
