A conference retrospective is in process - the following has been retained for reference.

We're pleased to announce that the 10th International American Cetacean Society Conference, Whales without Borders, will be held November 10-12, 2006, in Ventura, California. The Conference venue will be the Ventura Beach Marriott.

A limited number of rooms are blocked at a special group rate of $99 per room (single or double occupancy) for Friday November 10th and Saturday November 11th. A handful of rooms are also set aside at the group rate for Thursday and Sunday.

In order to receive the group rate of $99 (plus tax) per room, you must make your reservation before the blocked rooms are all taken, before October 13th, and you must identify yourself as part of the "American Cetacean Society" group at the time your reservation is made.

Please note that all reservations made at the Marriott help keep our costs, and therefore, YOUR costs, down! Please make your overnight accommodations at the Ventura Beach Marriott - be sure to mention ACS to get the great rate of just $99 night! You must make your reservation before the October 10th deadline and before the blocked rooms are all taken.

Check-In/Check-Out

Check in time is 3:00PM.  While the Hotel will make every reasonable effort to accommodate guests who arrive before the check in time, guestrooms may not be immediately available.  Baggage storage will be available for a small handling fee. Check out time is 12:00PM.  Late check out requests will be reviewed based on hotel demand.  A late departure fee of $50.00 per room may apply.

Parking

Complimentary parking for hotel guests and function attendees is available all around the property.

Alternative Hotels

A couple slightly more economical options to the Marriott are the Motel 6 and Comfort Inn, both of which are conveniently located across the street from the conference venue.
