ACS Donations

Help ACS protect whales, dolphins, and porpoises by making a monetary donation - JustGive is a nonprofit which connects people with the charities & causes they care most about. JustGive uses the GuideStar database. ACS's entry in the GuideStar database is easily accessible from this link. We greatly appreciate every contribution, large and small. Do you shop online? If you do, please consider shopping through iGive. You get discounts and a tax credit, and ACS gets a donation. Quite a few excellent merchants are on the iGive Mall, incl. a couple of the webmaster's favs such as Land's End and Barnes & Noble - merchants have agreed to donate varying percents of your purchase (from about a half percent up to as much as 25 percent - you can see how much from the banner when you are in the mall store). Please use the above link to make sure credit goes to ACS when you sign up. If you sign up manually and you use 'ACS' please be sure that iGive understands that you mean the American Cetacean Society (vs other national organizations with the same initials). note from webmaster: the 'shopping window' they ask you to download isn't really necessary, their site operates fine without it. There are several ways to donate to the American Cetacean Society.

• monetary - if you're not already a member, please join us, your membership dues are deductible to the extent of the law (see your financial advisor).
  
  The membership form also includes a spot for an additional monetary donation in case that is an option for you.
  
  You can also make monetary donations through this site, such as via the "igive" button to the right.
  
  
• time - you can help ACS by donating your time on either the national level or by volunteering with one of the chapters. A wide variety of volunteer opportunities are available and there is probably more than one which matches your interests.
  
  
• in-kind - ACS operates on a very tight budget and can always use 'gifts-in-kind'. If you are able to make an in-kind donation, you have the option of donating directly to a regional chapter (contact the chapter to discuss their current needs) or at the national level. National HQ (in San Pedro, CA.) almost always needs in-kind donations, such as:
  
  
  • donations to the library
  • copy paper
  • office supplies
  • artifacts and art objects to display at Headquarters
  • raffle items
  • volunteer labor (librarian, general volunteers, board members, committee members) to help with various tasks.

• indirect - ACS belongs to a couple affiliate programs - if you shop Amazon.com or any of the merchants on the iGive.com mall (see the details on this page), these merchants will donate a portion of your purchase to ACS to help save whales.
